Go to options -> Voice chat -> change the slider to no. If you open up your squadron chat you'll see an icon next to the name of whoever is activating their microphone. It's probably best to let them known they are doing this as well because the game doesn't tell them.

I’ve never heard anyone use voice chat in game but nevertheless go to options then to voice chat and just flick it to off.
I want to be able to disable/enable the crew voices but can’t find the option. Only seeing language and voice choices.
